Under this agreement, 20 students annually will gain the opportunity to study at the partner institution for one semester or one academic year. The program covers a wide range of disciplines including arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.

Program Details

The exchange program will begin in the Fall semester of 2024 and includes:

  • Full credit transfer for courses taken at the partner institution
  • Access to all academic resources and facilities
  • Cultural immersion opportunities
  • Mentorship from faculty members at the host institution
  • Language support for international students

Selection Process

Students will be selected based on academic performance, language proficiency, and motivation. The application process will open in January 2024 for the first cohort of exchange students.

"This partnership represents a significant step in our internationalization strategy and offers our students an incredible opportunity to learn from one of the world's leading universities," said Professor Li Wei, Vice President of International Affairs at Fudan University.

Harvard University's Dean of Global Education, Dr. Sarah Thompson, expressed similar enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to partner with Fudan University, one of China's most prestigious institutions. This exchange program will enrich our campus with diverse perspectives and provide Harvard students with valuable insights into Chinese education, culture, and society."

Future Collaboration

Beyond student exchanges, the agreement also lays the groundwork for potential future collaborations in research, faculty exchanges, and joint academic programs. Both universities have expressed interest in expanding their partnership to include joint research initiatives in areas of mutual interest such as public health, climate change, and artificial intelligence.
